She wanted someone to know
They had her to hold,
In the nights they cried
When their hearts broke inside.
And when their worlds fell apart,
In her they could find
What they need to start
All over again.
Even with their lost pieces,
The sharp rugged edges
Of porcelain that was once beautiful.

She wanted someone to know
She’d fill them with gold;
Put them back together,
Making them better than ever.
She just wishes to be a home
For at least one wayward soul;
So she may feel what it’s like
To be in control
To know with a twitch of her wrist
And a good choice of ignorance
She too could crush the hearts
Of those too gullible
To believe in her
From the start.
