My black umbrella

I saw her standing

In the middle of the rain

Drenched and wrecked,

Her eyes reflected pain.

So I approached her,

Protected her,

Comforted her,

Underneath my black umbrella.

We walked together,

Finding a place to shed from the weather,

I saw her smile for the first time ever

She said, “I couldn’t wish for anything better”

Until that day,

She ran away,

With my black umbrella,

She left.

Leaving me under the rain,

Drenched and wrecked,

Just like the time,

I saw her back then.
By,

NIL, Sabah.
