They told me they believed the city was safe
But they must have not seen the blood
Which soaked the streets and caked the walls
And the souls that wandered all around
Wondering where to go and how to get there.
The terror that strikes one’s hearts
Is at large in the city
It keeps us safe from any sort of threat
For we lash out even before knowing who it is
Promising to keep us safe and sound
But it does the complete opposite
To our souls and our minds.
The city is safe?
You must be kidding.
