Jellyfish

I’m just a jellyfish,

Trying not to be selfish,

Since a jellyfish does not have a heart or a brain,

These feelings I could not contain,

I will not express them anymore,

because I feel before I use my core,

I thought receptors detect stimulus first,

Only after, our brain interprets our thirst,

but to you, you must think before you feel,

So, one day, I hope to be caught in someone else’s reel,

For clearly, I have lost my conscience and ventricles,

In the midst of stinging you with my tentacles,

Now, I will swim away from you, a ghoul,

Before my poisonous venom inks my own soul.

By,

Asha.
